TMKOC: Palak Sindhwani's exit becomes 'difficult' after makers send 'breach of contract' notice

TV actress Palak Sindhwani, who plays the role of Sonu Bhide in the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, recently announced her exit from the series. However, her exit is becoming difficult and the actress has accused the producers of 'exploiting' her after they sent her a 'breach of contract' notice.

As per reports, the legal notice was issued against her by show producers Neela Film Productions. However, the actress disclosed that she had conveyed her wish to quit the show for professional growth and health reasons. The actress claimed that her decision to leave the show has irked the makers, who are now making her exit “difficult".

During an interview with Bombay Times, Palak revealed that she had informed the makers on August 8 about her decision to quit the show. The makers also informed her that she needed to mail her resignation letter to their official email, which was never shared with her. Further, Palak claimed the team delayed approval of her resignation.

The legal notice from Neela Film Productions stated that Palak Sindhwani violated several important rules in her exclusive artiste agreement. The breaches primarily concern Palak Sindhwani's unauthorized third-party endorsements and appearances without obtaining the necessary written consent, as required by her contract.

During the interview, Palak stated that she was surprised to see articles in the media stating that she breached the contract.

Palak clarified that she signed the contract 5 years ago and the makers denied giving her a copy of the same. However, she received a copy on September 19, 2024.

"They had agreed to let me continue brand endorsements and post the pandemic I also started brand endorsements on social media. They didn't say anything then but after I announced my decision to quit they have started this plan of action," said Palak.

She also stated that she has taken legal advice and will follow what is right for her career.

"This is exploitation and I never expected this after working with them for five years. Just because I want to quit Taarak Mehta, they are making my exit difficult,” she added.
