It is the dream of millions of aspirants to crack the UPSC Civil Services exam and become an IAS or IPS officer. However, IAS Abhishek Singh’s story is quite different. After becoming an IAS officer following years of struggle, he reportedly resigned to pursue his luck in acting.

Abhishek, who hails from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh, was not a bright student since his childhood. After his schooling, he went on to get his degree in B.Com from Delhi University. If reports are to be believed, he was cheated in a relationship during his growing days.

So, he shifted his entire focus to UPSC preparations. With much struggle and hard work, he cracked the UPSC in 2010 and joined the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) in 2011. After serving as IAS for almost 10 years, he was removed from his service for posting his work on social media.

Later, he decided to resign from his post as IAS and put his papers in November last year. Since then, he has been trying his luck in acting and has appeared in music videos and web series.

He was part of Netflix’s acclaimed web series ‘Delhi Crime’ and earned critical acclaim for his performance. He was also seen in the short film ‘Chaar Pandrah’ and also featured in popular Punjabi singer B Praak’s song ‘Dil Tod Ke’ which was a very big hit.

He was recently seen with superstar Salman Khan and the stunning Sunny Leone in Bigg Boss. Both, Abhishek and Sunny had come to the Bigg Boss to promote their upcoming movie.

For the unversed, Singh is happily married to IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal from Chhattisgarh. A B.Tech student, Nagpal cleared the UPSC Exam with AIR-20 and entered the prestigious IAS cadre.
