Deepika Padukone and Muzammil Ibrahim Dated For Two Years?

During a recent chat with Siddharth Kanan, Muzammil Ibrahim, who has worked in movies including Dhokha, Horn Ok Pls and Will You Marry Me, made a sensational claim that he was in a relationship with Deepika Padukone. As claimed, the duo started dating soon after Deepika moved to Mumbai. At that time, Ibrahim was establishing himself as a model after appearing in a few music videos. Ibrahim further revealed that he was the first guy whom Deepika met in Mumbai. It was the actress who asked him out. They dated for two years. However, he was the one who broke up with her.

Ibrahim said, "I was a star at that time, she was not. She is a superstar now. Everyone knows her, nobody knows me. I am a big fan. I love watching her movies. She is a beautiful woman. She is doing so great but the fact is what it is."

When asked if they are still in touch, Ibrahim replied that after her marriage to Ranveer Singh in 2019, they haven't been in touch. However, after their breakup and before she got married, they became friendly and talked sometimes.

He also revealed that in their initial days, they didn't have much money, so they went on dates in rickshaws.

"We would go on dates in a rickshaw in the rain. I had more money than her because I had started earning better. Then I bought a car and she was very happy about that," he added.

He also admitted that even though they had no money, they were happy and these things have become memorable for him.

Not Ranbir Kapoor, Muzammil Ibrahim Deserved 'Best Debut Award'?

Notably, Muzammil Ibrahim revealed that he made his debut with Pooja Bhatt's Dhokha in 2007 around the same time when Ranbir Kapoor debuted with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya. Notably, Ranbir was crowned the year's most promising debutant, even though Saawariya flopped.

During the same interview, Ibrahim said that every award show chose to honour Ranbir but he was more deserving of awards.

Ibrahim said, "Ranbir Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh made their debut in the same year with Saawariya and Johnny Gaddaar. When I met Nana Patekar, he told me that we knew you wouldn't get the award. He said, 'You gave the best performance but we knew that they were going to give the award to Ranbir Kapoor'. I knew that I deserved an award for Dhokha. All the 'Best Debut' awards should have been mine because I feel that I was better than Ranbir in Saawariya."

Further, he said that Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan praised his work with the latter saying that Ibrahim deserved the award more. While he was nominated at a few award events, he didn't get one and at other events, he wasn't even nominated.

However, talking about Ranbir, Ibrahim said that he loves the Ramayana actor and he is an amazing actor. Ranbir is one of the only star kids he respects and looks up to.
