  • Anupam Kher-led The Kashmir Files based on genocide of Kashmiri Pandits released today.
  • The Saransh actor has said that he is the voice and face of these Kashmiris who suffered 32 years ago.

The Kashmir Files released today focus on the genocide that affected the Hindus in Kashmir. It is a very sensitive topic and needs a lot of dare and determination to present the facts the way they happened. And as the reviews for the movie are coming out, it seems the director Vijay Agnihotri has been courageous enough to put forth the story in a straight and forthright manner.

As expected, Anupam Kher shines in the movie and now he has come out with a video on his social media handle promoting the movie in a full-fledged way. Being a Kashmiri Pandit himself, the actor has closely observed the pain that these people suffered.

In his post, Anupam has penned that he is the witness of The Kashmir Files, and those who were killed cruelly in Kashmir or started living as dead after the atrocities or were uprooted from their native land are still waiting for justice. The Saransh actor further added that he is the voice and face of those Kashmiri people.

In the video, the famous actor can be seen saying that with the grace of God, he has completed 522 movies, plays characters, make people cry and laugh and that is his Saransh. But this time (in The Kashmir Files), he did not portray a character or act. He further adds that 32 years ago hundreds of Kashmiri people from old to young, his close people, and everyone suffered hugely as if all parts of his body including his hands, legs, and other organs were crushed.

Anupam Kher gets very emotional while narrating the incidences that the Kashmiri Pandits faced. Another celebrity who is also a Kashmiri pandit and has supported The Kashmir Files is former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina. In his post, Raina has said that now it is the movie of the audience and if it touches their heart, they must raise their voice against injustice that was done to the Kashmiri pandits 32 years ago.

Apart from Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, and Prakash Belawadi have also delivered splendid performance in The Kashmir Files.
