After the Tamil Nadu government, yesterday announced that it is planning to ban the screening of The Family Man 2, team of the web series has finally reacted. Apart from the directors Raj and DK, the actors Manoj Bajpayee and Sharib Hashmi have now shared a statement on their social media handles.
In their statement, the team of The Family Man Season 2 has said that all the assumptions are based on the few shots in the trailer and that people must watch the entire show and then come out with their opinions. The statement further says that they have taken utmost pains to ensure that they come up with a sensitive, balanced, and riveting story.
Manoj Bajpayee who plays the lead role in this web series has also shared this open letter which says, “Some assumptions and impressions have been made based on just a couple of shots in the trailer. Many of our lead cast members, as well as key members of the creative & writing team, are Tamilians. We are very cognizant of the sentiments of the Tamil people and Tamil culture and have nothing but the utmost love and respect towards our Tamil people.”
The makers as well as the team has requested people to watch the show saying, “We have put in years of hard work into this show, and we have taken great pains to bring to our audiences a sensitive, balanced, and riveting story – much like we did in Season 1 of the show. We request everyone to wait and watch the show when it releases. We know you’ll appreciate it once you watch it.”
The first part of the series received a good response and fans simply loved Manoj in it and were eagerly waiting for the second part of the Amazon Prime Video series. But they were disappointed after the Tamil Nadu government a couple of days ago requested the Information & Broadcasting Ministry to stop or ban the release of The Family Man Season 2. The government alleged that the series has negatively shown the Eelam Tamils.
