National Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's 'The Bengal Files' has remained the centre of discussion for its bold storytelling and emotional depth. After the makers dropped the teaser, conversations around the film have trended on social media and global media outlets.

However, its impact has sparked fierce political backlash. Multiple leaders of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) have raised strong objections to the film’s content, leading to several FIRs being filed against the movie and its creator, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.

Vivek Agnihotri Hits Back At TMC Leaders

On Tuesday, Agnihotri, who is currently promoting The Bengal Files in the USA, took to social media and shared a clip hitting back at the TMC leaders who filed FIRs against him.

In the clip, Agnihotri addressed the audience, saying, "I am currently promoting The Bengal Files, one of the most important films.on 'Hindu Genocide'. It uncovers so many dark chapters of our history, which some vested interests had covered up for a long time. But, while I am here in USA, you won't believe that the ruling party of West Bengal and their members have been filing so many FIRs against us in different cities, in different thanas (police stations). That is their strategy."

The director, however, stands unyieldingly in the face of political pressure.

He added, "I was quiet. I did not share this information with anyone because we were taking the legal course. I have great faith in the Indian judiciary, especially Kolkata High Court, and I have a good news to give you."

He revealed that the Hon’ble High Court has intervened, granting a stay on the FIRs, ensuring that, at least for now, his voice and his film remain free from legal suppression.

Further, he said that while the case was being heard in the court, more FIRs were being filed.

"I think the ruling party wants to trap us with so many legal hassles, so many legal battles, so that we can't focus on the promotion of the film. I must say something, this strategy has been deployed by them for very very long time. But, you have to ask a few questions. 'Why do they want to supress our voice? Why do they don't want that this dark chapter of Indian history of the past and the present of Murshidabad to come out in the public domain,'" he added.

Further, he questioned, "Are they against me, are they against the film or are they against the truth."
