  • Thangalaan teaser unveils that the movie focuses on both the myths as well as the history of the tribes.
  • It has an indirect KGF connection as it revolves around Kolar Gold Mines.

Pa Ranjith and the team have released yet another teaser of Vikram-led Thangalaan. It is a bloody tale of war, drama, and greed set in the backdrop of caste oppression and makes you recall the situation in Yash’s KGF.

The teaser unveils that the movie focuses on both the myths as well as the history of the tribes who lived on the part of land which later on became known as Kolar Gold Mines.

While Prashanth Neel mostly focused on the commercial aspect of the mines, Pa Ranjith seems to offer a better insight into the situation of those times. The title cards from the teaser read, “As myth leads to history, as greed leads to destruction, as blood wars lead to liberty, rises the son of gold.”

While the teaser does not give much more other than the montages, it effectively offers the audience an idea of what to expect from the movie.

For Pa Ranjith it is a ground that he has treaded before both tone and texture-wise. His earlier movies Kaala and Madras also revolved around similar themes in which the protagonist has to fight to regain control of the land and the identity of the people.

However, this time there is one major change and that is the theme of greed which is a different topic for the seasoned director.

Thangalaan is bankrolled by Green Studios owned by Gnanavelraj and features Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Pasupathy apart from superstar Vikram.

For the first time, composer GV Prakash Kumar is collaborating with Pa Ranjith for Thangalaan and hence fans are excited to enjoy the impact.

More teasers and trailers are expected to hit the web soon as the film has ample time for promotion since it will be released on January 26 next year. Pa Ranjith is reportedly going to start working with Kamal Haasan for his next project after the release of Thangalaan.
