Tamil Superstar Thalapathy Vijay ’s debut on Instagram has streamed excitement among his fans. And with his debut, he has scripted a new record at par with records of global fame including South Korean Boy band BTS and Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.
Vijay has a huge fandom and the box-office success of his movies narrates it all. Being one of the most loved mass heroes in Kollywood, Vijay had a strong presence on Facebook and Twitter. However, unlike other celebrities, Vijay remained away from Instagram.

However, finally, on Sunday, Vijay joined Instagram and made his debut post with a photo and caption reading: Hello Nanba and Nanbis.
In the photo, Vijay sports a salt-and-pepper look and appears quite dashing.
With Vijay’s debut, fans have gone berserk and the number of followers has been increasing since then.
However, with his Instagram debut, Vijay scripted the new record. While now the number of followers stands at 3 million, within a few hours of his debut, the number of followers breached the 1-million mark.
Notably, BTS holds the record for the quickest 1 million followers, which was within 43 minutes of debut. Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie holds scripted the record within 59 minutes. Vijay became the third celebrity to reach this mark within 99 minutes.
Vijay, who was interacting with his fans through Twitter, took a break for some time, so his debut on Instagram is considered a new avenue for him to post photos and promote his movies. Currently, Vijay has 7.8 million followers on Facebook and 4.4 million on Twitter.
On the work front, Vijay is shooting for Lokesh 'Vikram' Kanakaraj's movie, 'Leo', and the debut picture was from his upcoming movie. 'Leo', incidentally, has Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, who'll soon be seen in 'Ponniyin Selvan-2', Priya Anand, Sandy, Goutam Vasudev Menon, Arjun and Malayalam actor Mathew Thomas in major roles, apart from Vijay.
