Thalapathy Vijay is preparing to take a substantial hiatus from cinema to focus on his political career. Before bidding adieu to the silver screen, the celebrated actor aims to complete his 69th film.
Reports indicate that Vijay is poised to collaborate with acclaimed filmmaker H Vinoth for this project tentatively titled Thalapathy 69.
According to OTT Play reports, recent updates suggest that Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a popular actress, will reunite with Vijay as the female lead in this eagerly anticipated H Vinoth directorial.
The film's storyline and Samantha's character have impressed her, and she has reportedly given her nod. If the reports are true then, Thalapathy 69 would mark the fourth collaboration between Vijay and Samantha, following their successful outings in Kaththi, Theri, and Mersal. However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers or the actress team till now.
If things fall in place, Thalapathy 69 will also mark her grand comeback to Tamil cinema after a two-year hiatus. Sam was last seen in Tamil in the Vignesh Shivan directorial Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.
Thalapathy 69 is anticipated to be an intense political thriller, marking Vijay's first partnership with H Vinoth. Anirudh Ravichander has reportedly joined the team to compose the music and score for Thalapathy 69.
Produced by the renowned Kannada banner KVN Studios, Thalapathy 69 is scheduled to commence filming by late October or early November 2024, according to reports.
