As conversations around work culture and mental wellness gain momentum in the film industry, actress Tamannaah Bhatia has added a refreshing and introspective voice to the mix.

At a time when several stars are calling out the grueling schedules and long work hours that dominate the entertainment world, Tamannaah is offering a different perspective, one that looks inward.

“Work-Life Balance is a Lie”

Speaking on the sidelines of India Couture Week, Tamannaah Bhatia didn’t mince words. Dismissing the oft-repeated idea of “work-life balance,” she said, “I think work-life balance is a lie. You have to be balanced, and then work and life happen. If you are balanced, then work-life balance ho jata hai.”

Her comments came amid an industry-wide reckoning, sparked in part by Deepika Padukone’s reported exit from director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit—allegedly due to her request for an 8-hour workday being turned down. Tamannaah’s take stands out not by criticising work hours, but by reframing the conversation around self-awareness and inner stability.

A Packed Slate Ahead

Even as she speaks candidly about the pressures of her profession, Tamannaah shows no signs of slowing down. She’s currently working on VVAN: Force of the Forest opposite Sidharth Malhotra, the action film Ranger alongside Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, and an untitled project with Rohit Shetty featuring John Abraham.

With 89 films under her belt, Tamannaah remains one of South Indian cinema’s highest-paid stars, balancing not just scripts and schedules, but perhaps more importantly, herself.
