Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) is among the most popular sitcoms in the history of Indian television. Over the years, the show has remained in limelight for its characters and their chemistry which complements the story’s plot line.

In the past 14 years, the sitcom has witnessed many ups and downs, as many actors have left the show who had become the show’s face like Disha Vakhani, Ghanshayam Nayak and most recently Shailesh Lodha who played the titular role of Taarak Mehta in the show.

Shailesh Lodha had shot his last scene for the show in April last year following a rift with the makers. The actor and poet after leaving the show had shared that even after six months of exit, TMKOC makers had not cleared his dues for of over a year.

It seems the rift between Shailesh Lodha and TMKOC makers had taken an ugly turn as the actor has filed a case against the makers over non-payment of dues.

According to the Hindustan Times report, Lodha has filed a complaint against the show producer Asit Modi for his pending dues and sued his production company in March first week, of this year.

Reportedly, Lodha reached out to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and initiated a corporate insolvency resolution under section 9, as Modi could not pay his debts. The hearing will be held in May.

Meanwhile, Lodha has refrained from commenting on the topic saying the matter is sub-judice.

On the other hand, TMOKC Project head Sohil Ramani was quoted as saying by HT, “We have never denied or refused to give his payment. In every company when people leave, they have to sign full and final papers before complete payment is released. Where is the issue? Instead of going around and complaining, isn’t it better to simply follow the regular procedure?”

“We are not pursuing any case, because we did not refuse to give his payment. We have already informed sir (Lodha) to take his dues and sign the required papers,” added Somani.
