E-commerce site Flipkart has drawn into controversy again! This time, the e-commerce giant has come under a lot of flak on social media for selling a t-shirt with a picture of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and a message on depression.

Fans got angry as the T-shirt depicts the actor in a negative light. The T-shirt in question carries the caption 'Depression is like drowning' with a picture of the late actor. This angered SSR fans who took to Twitter to voice their protest, and trended the hashtag #BoycottFlipkart. They called it ‘cheap marketing’.

The fans were angry as the T-Shirt claimed the actor was a victim of depression. However, no judgement has been passed on the actor’s death yet by the law as the CBI probe is on. Many claimed that this was done in bad taste and called out Flipkart to remove the product immediately.

Many on Twitter called it a 'smear campaign' against Rajput, and demanded an apology from the online shopping platform.

"Dragging a dead soul n labelling d specific pic as “Depression”!! What kind of cheap marketing is this ??" asked a user.
On the other hand, Flipkart is yet to comment on the controversy.

"It's not a correct way to develop your online stores. First you remove this t-shirts from sale. Don't play with another's emotions," another posted.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his room in Bandra, Mumbai in June 2020. A post-mortem report cited 'asphyxia due to hanging' as the cause of his death. Initial reports quoted Mumbai Police and stated the cause of his death was 'accidental death'.

Later, the case was handed over to the CBI, Enforcement Directorate, and the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation. In the latest development related to Sushant’s death, the NCB filed draft charges against Sushant’s then-girlfriend actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and others before a special court.
