Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last movie ‘Dil Bechara’ was received well by critics and cinephiles alike. Released directly on OTT after Sushant’s death, the movie was based on the English novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and a remake of the Hollywood film with the same title.

Dil Bechara shows Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi playing two terminal cancer patients who became the best of friends dealing with the same tragedy. Even actor Saif Ali Khan played a pivotal role in the film. Sushant won millions of hearts with his role as 'Manny' and is still remembered by this name by his fans.

Now, years after the release of the movie, director Mukesh Chhabra has hinted about a possible sequel. Taking to his X(Twitter) handle, Mukesh did not give much information, and just wrote, ‘Dil Bechara 2’.

Ever since his tweet went viral, Sushant Singh Rajput fans are getting emotional and curious to know who would replace the actor in the sequel.

“Yes, let’s make it, even better than 3 Idiots … film 3 idiots Se Behtar Honi Chahiye Mukesh Chabbra ✌️,” a fan commented.

Another fan wrote, “Please cast Harshavardhan Rane and Triptii Dimri sir for Dil Bechara 2.”

“Please don’t make it as I cannot see anyone else in Sushant Rajput’s role,” a third fan shared.

On the other hand, several celebs shared the post while singer Amal Mallik posted a heart emoji in the comment section.

Dil Bechara was released on Disney+ Hotstar and went on to break several records. It was Mukesh Chhabra’s first film as a director and he cast Sushant who was his best friend. As per reports, Sushant had promised Chhabra that he would cast in his film and kept his promise before his death.

Worth mentioning, Sushant was found dead at his Bandra residence. While fans claim his death to be a ‘planned murder’, the CBI is yet to throw light on the reason behind Sushant’s death while many claim it was a case of ‘suicide’ due to depression.
