Bollywood's action King Akshay Kumar has teamed up with Tamil superstar Suriya for an untitled movie. The team has started filming for the movie with a coconut-breaking ceremony in Mumbai.

The yet to be titled movie will be made the Hindi remake of superhit Tamil film 'Soorarai Pottru' directed by Sudha Kongara.

Suriya played the lead character of Nedumaaran Rajangam (Maara) in the original and paired up with Aparna Balamurali as Sundari "Bommi" Nedumaaran. The onscreen couple will be replaced by Aki and Radhika Madan. 

The Hindi remake is being produced by Suriya's production house, 2D Entertainment, along with Abudantia Entertainment and Cape Good Films on a lavish scale. With this film, 2D Entertainment will be making its debut in Hindi film production. 

Marking his foray into Bollywood with this film, Suriya participated in the pooja.

Earlier today, Aki had shared a video of the coconut-breaking ceremony and captioned it, "With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it 💫 In case you’ll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes 🙏🏻 "

Later in the day, Suriya also shared a few pictures with the Khiladi actor and others in the team. He captioned it: A new begining… need all your love and blessings!!

Sudha Kongara, who directed the Tamil version of 'Soorarai Pottru', will be directing the Hindi version also.

Niketh Bommi will be the cinematographer of this film, which will have music by G V Prakash.

Proper shooting will begin Tuesday in Mumbai. A formal announcement on the other members of the cast and crew is expected soon.

Recently, Aki got heavily trolled for doing an advertisement for a tobacco brand along with Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan. He later issued an apology for featuring in the commercial.
