Sunny Deol reacts to Aryan Khan’s directorial debut ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’
Bollywood stars Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan, who once shared a strained equation, have now mended fences after nearly 16 years. The ice finally melted when Shah Rukh extended support to Gadar 2. SRK not only watched Gadar 2 with his family but also joined the success celebrations, which marked the beginning of a renewed bond. Now, taking the goodwill a step further, Sunny Deol recently showed his support for Shah Rukh’s son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
On Sunday, Sunny Deol took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the upcoming Netflix series. Praising Aryan’s work, the Border 2 actor wrote that Shah Rukh would be proud of his son’s achievement. He also mentioned that Bobby Deol, who plays a significant role in the show, had spoken highly of Aryan’s direction.
Posting the trailer on his Instagram handle, Sunny wrote, “Dear @___aryan___, your show looks absolutely fantastic! Bob has been full of praise, your father will be very proud. Wishing you all the very best, beta. Chak De Phatte.” (sic)
Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan first worked together in Yash Chopra’s 1993 classic Darr. While the film catapulted Shah Rukh to superstardom, Sunny was reportedly unhappy with how his character was portrayed. Despite being shown as a commando, his role was written to lose against SRK’s villainous character, which left Sunny feeling sidelined.
During a heated exchange with Yash Chopra over the creative choices, Sunny allegedly grew so furious that he tore his pants in anger. This fallout created a rift between him and Shah Rukh, and the two actors did not speak to each other for 16 years after the film’s release.
