The hype around Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan is quite high these days. Though there is no official confirmation regarding the star cast, as per reports, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will be essaying the role of Lord Ram and Devi Sita, respectively, in the movie. While recent reports claimed that Yash is confirmed to play the character of Demon King Ravana, there was no clarification on Sunny Deol essaying the role of Lord Hanuman. 

However, now it seems the curtains have been raised. As per the latest reports by PinkVilla, Sunny Deol is confirmed to play Lord Hanuman's character on the big screen in the planned trilogy based on Indian epic Ramayan.

PinkVilla quoted a close source to the development as saying, "Sunny Deol is all charged up to have gotten once in a lifetime opportunity to play Lord Hanuman. It's a casting made in heaven, as Lord Hanuman stands for strength, who better than Sunny Deol in the present time to play the  part with utmost conviction."

Further, briefing about the Gadar actor's shooting schedule, the source revealed that Sunny will start shooting for his part in Ramayan: Part One in May 2024.

"While Ramayan: Part One will feature Sunny Deol in a guest appearance, the second and third parts of the epic trilogy will have his complete presence. The makers are confident that after Tara Singh, it's Sunny Deol who would be synonymous with Lord Hanuman in modern time," he added. 

Well, if the reports are anything to go by, inclusion of Sunny Deol after Rocking Star Yash in the magnum opus would certainly elevate the excitement among all.

As per earlier reports, the makers were in talks with Bobby Deol for Kumbhkaran and Lara Dutta for Queen Kaikeyi; however, Bobby turned down the offer. Now, the makers are in discussions with Vijay Sethupathi for Vibhisan  However, there are no official reports backing the claims. Undeniably, the movie will be one of the greatest Indian movie comprising an ensemble star cast from all industries. 

Reportedly, Ranbir and Sai Pallavi will start shooting for the magnum opus on 2nd March this year. Ranbir and Sai will shoot scenes with heavy dialogue while other sequences and war scenes have been scheduled for April and May. The director aims to wrap these major sequences before the onset of monsoon season. Later, Yash will join the star cast in June-July 2024 and will shoot for 15 days to complete his part in first part of the movie. 

The shooting of first part of the movie is expected to get wrapped up by July 2024. The makers have allocated 500 days to complete the post-production work out of which most of the work will be on VFX.
