Recently held Zee Cine Awards 2024 was a star studded affair with some big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Ali Bhatt, Rani Mukerji, Kiara Advani emerging as winners. And of course there were some scintillating performances by B-town’s A-listed celebs and one of the highlights was the iconic stage performance by none other than the Badshah of Bollywood.
He recreated many hook steps from his famous songs and also added a hilarious twist to his presence on stage by reuniting with Sunil Grover for a comedy skit.
Known for some of the most iconic personifications of famous stars and celebrities, Sunil Grover in this skit can be seen wearing the traditional white-coloured saree with pallu over head and a thali in his hand- a la Jaya Bachchan from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Sunil is all decked up in this way to do aarti of Shah Rukh Khan aka Rahul from K3G. As SRK touches the feet of the comedian, he pulls over the saree and says, “Mummy aapne yeh babuji ke joote kyun pahane?”
Sunil aka Jaya Bachchan replies, “Dhyan se dekho beta main babuji hi hoon” and suddenly changes gears dancing to shawa shawa in Amitabh Bachchan’s baritone voice. The entire scene looks so hilarious and even actors in the audience cannot hold their laughter.
Apart from SRK, another performance that seems to have made quite an impression on the audience of Zee Cine Awards 2024 is that of Bobby Deol, who found back his stardom after his role in Animal became a big hit. Not only did the Gupt actor danced to his famous hit “Jamal Kudu” but he also grooved to some hits of his brother Sunny Deol like “Yaara Oh Yaara” and more. And what’s more, Sunny Deol too joined Bobby dancing to his hit number from Animal doing the iconic step with his younger brother.
