Stree 2
The much-anticipated horror comedy ‘Stree 2,’ starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is set to hit theatres on August 15, 2024.
The trailer for the highly anticipated has been released, promising a thrilling mix of scares and laughs.
The newly released trailer teases a perfect blend of scares and laughs, with Pankaj Tripathi's character, Rudra Bhaiyaa, introducing a new threat to Chanderi—'Sarkata'.
This time, the people of Chanderi pray to Stree for protection with the plea, "O stree raksha karna," instead of their previous chant, "O stree kal aana."
After facing delays, ‘Stree 2’ began filming last July in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, the same location as the first film. The sequel also features Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee in lead roles.
The original ‘Stree,’ released in 2018, received critical acclaim and was a box office success. Its music, including hits like "Milegi Milegi" and "Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe," became chartbusters, with Nora Fatehi's performance in ‘Kamariya’ grabbing significant attention. The film ended on a cliffhanger, with Shraddha Kapoor's character merging an evil spirit's ponytail with her own, hinting at more mayhem in Chanderi.
‘Stree’ was based on the Karnataka urban legend Nale Ba, about a witch who abducts men at night, leaving only their clothes behind.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, 'Stree 2' is directed by Amar Kaushik and continues the horror-comedy universe established by films like ‘Stree,’ ‘Roohi,’ and ‘Bhediya.’ The film is set for a theatrical release on Independence Day, where it will face a box office clash with Akshay Kumar's ‘Khel Khel Mein.’
