Stree 2 earns over 12 times of its production cost; now surpasses Prabhas' Baahubali

It has outperformed competitors like 'Veda' and 'Khel Khel Mein', amassing Rs 424.05 crore domestically and Rs 600 crore globally. The film has eclipsed 'Baahubali The Beginning' and is nearing the Rs 450 crore mark domestically.

‘Stree 2’, starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, has emerged as an undeniable box office success. Released on August 15, the film continues its momentum well into its second week, consistently breaking records.

Despite competition from major releases like ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’, ‘Stree 2’ has dominated both the domestic and global box office.

Over the past two weeks, the film has posted double-digit earnings, even on weekdays. As of day 14, ‘Stree 2’ managed to surpass ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, previously one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. With a domestic collection of Rs 424.05 crore, ‘Stree 2’ has dethroned ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, which held the ninth position on the list with Rs 421 crore.

Internationally, ‘Stree 2’ has grossed Rs 600 crore, and its worldwide total now stands at Rs 600.50 crore, including Rs₹11.50 crore from its domestic earnings on day 13. The film continues to perform strongly, despite recording its first single-digit earnings of Rs 9.25 crore on day 14. Early estimates from Sacnilk indicate that this figure could vary slightly as final numbers are confirmed. 

‘Stree 2’ is now rapidly approaching the Rs 450 crore mark in domestic earnings, solidifying its position as a box office juggernaut. The film's success is even more impressive given its reported budget of Rs 50 crore. With global earnings of 12 times its production cost, ‘Stree 2’ has become the most profitable film of the year.
