SS Rajamouli's upcoming globetrotting jungle action-adventure SSMB29 (working title), starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has kept cinephiles on their toes. While fans are waiting for official updates, the makers haven't made an official announcement regarding the cast. Well, amid this, a fresh report suggests that the plot of SSMB29 will centre around a crucial part of the Indian epic Ramayana.

SSMB29 Heavily Inspired by Ramayana?

Earlier, reports surfaced that Mahesh Babu is playing a role inspired by Lord Hanuman and might be seen in a bulky muscular body. Later, pictures from the sets of SSMB29 in Hyderabad leaked online giving glimpses into the ancient city of Kashi (modern-day Varanasi).

Notably, Rajamouli, who is widely known for seamlessly blending history with his movies, has heavily drawn inspiration from Ramayana. According to an exclusive report by PeepingMoon, SSMB29 will centre around Sanjeevani Booti (a magical herb that saved the life of Lakshman) mentioned in Ramayana.

The report quoted a close source to the development saying, "It is an Indiana Jones-style action adventure that follows Mahesh Babu's character on a globetrotting quest to find Sanjeevani Booti, a legendary plant believed to have the power to revive the dead."

Further, the source revealed that Rajamouli and his father, eminent screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad, have intricately woven elements from the Indian epic into the narrative to craft an epic and ancient saga.

The source also claimed that SSMB29 will surpass the scale of Rajamouli's previous works with breathtaking action sequences and visual effects.

However, fans need to wait for an official confirmation backing the circulating reports.
