SS Rajamouli's best villains: Bhallaladeva, Sudeep, or Bikshu Yadav?

Watch any SS Rajamouli, and you can’t help but admire the bronzed, muscular physiques of his eponymous lead actors. Be it the muscular Prabhas, the mighty Jr. NTR, or the charming Ram Charan. SS Rajamouli has given several memorable blockbusters and taken Indian cinema to the next level altogether.

There is no doubt that he has given some best lead characters like Prabhas as Amarendra Baahubali, Ram Charan as Kala Bhairava in Magadheera, and Ram in RRR. However, if we shift our sights just a bit, we will notice that Rajamouli has also given us some of the best on-screen villains.

Much of the credit goes to Rajamouli who has broken the trend of stereotypically crude villain and created entirely relatable and enjoyable villains. He has given villains like ‘Bhallaladeva’, Sudeep in Eega, Ranadev Billa in Magadheera, Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat as Bikshu Yadav in ‘Sye’, and Prabhakar as Kalakeya in Baahubali.

While many would choose Rana Dagubatti (Bhallaladeva) as the best villain, Rajamouli himself has claimed that Kichha Sudeep was his favourite from Eega. He is one of the reigning kings of Sandalwood, the Kannada film industry.

“I was impressed by Sudeep’s performance and attitude in Rann. Not many can act with megastar Amitabh Bachchan with such elan. My villain should deliver a stylized performance; he should not show his anxiety by just screaming and all. Sudeep’s performance is so subtle,” Rajamouli stated in an interview.

Meanwhile, Malayalam superstar and actor Prithviraj has been finalized to play the main antagonist in his upcoming movie with Tollywood Prince Mahesh Babu.
