  • Shah Rukh Khan's movie Jawan scheduled to release on 2nd June has been postponed
  • It is sure to benefit Prabhas' Adipurush that is releasing on 16th June 2023.

The release date of Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara-starrer Jawan, helmed by Atlee, has been delayed. Earlier it was scheduled to release on 2nd June this year. But now it will hit the theatres on August 25. The creative team is not satisfied with the VFX used for the action sequences and hence has decided to hold the release until the aesthetics are satisfactory enough.

Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, will be released on June 16 and had Jawan released as per its earlier schedule then it could have a major impact on the theatrical performance of this big-budget movie based on Ramayana.

There was barely a gap of 15 days between the releases of both these highly-anticipated movies and taking into consideration the performance of Pathaan which ran for weeks in the theatres, the footfall for Adipurush would have definitely got impacted. Importantly, Shah Rukh Khan ’s stardom has bounced back with Pathaan. Nevertheless, Jawan being directed by a very successful South director has the full potential of becoming a blockbuster. So now that Jawaan has been postponed, Adipurush has a full chance to make a clean sweep.

From June 1 to 20, there is no big movie releasing in Bollywood. So Prabhas and Adipurush team can expect good attention and response from the audience. The film is based on the mythological epic Ramayana and caters to the people who worship, love, and believe in Lord Rama and his legendary story.

Adipurush is being made on a whopping budget of 650 crores which is quite huge. The positive things on the side of this movie are that it is being directed by Om Raut who earlier gave a blockbuster like Tanhaji and knows how to tell history and portray the valour on screen. Prabhas as Baahubali was loved and appreciated by the audience across the world and once again in Adipurush he is portraying a prince fighting for truth and honour.

Kriti Sanon is currently enjoying a good following in Bollywood and her first look as Sita from the movie has also received appreciation. However, what can go against the movie is Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh because fans were utterly disappointed with the 10-headed Ravana that was shown in the teaser. The director and the entire team were badly slammed for the VFX and were forced to rework it.

Most importantly, it will be a big test for Prabhas who has failed to match the level of expectations of the audience after Baahubali and all his last few movies have been disasters at the box office.
