Soldier sequel on cards! Will Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta reunite?

1998's Hindi movie Soldier, starring Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta in the lead, was a blockbuster. The romantic action thriller helmed by director duo Abbas-Mustan is counted as one of the best movies of the actors to date. Well, now, the makers are all set for the sequel and are developing the script for Soldier 2.

Recently, producer Ramesh Taurani revealed the plans to make a sequel to Soldier.

He said, "We want to make 'Soldier 2'; it is a good franchise film. We are working on developing the script.”

Well, the producer didn't reveal anything about the cast. However, Bobby and Preity's reunion can be expected in the sequel for various reasons. 

Notably, Bobby Deol has made his comeback and the craze among moviegoers for the Anumal actor has reached heights. While his stellar performance in Animal swayed everyone, the anticipation for his upcoming movies including the Tamil movie Kanguva remains high. He has several other projects in the pipeline. Fans are in awe of his new avatar and the producers may consider him casting in the sequel. On the other hand, Preity Zinta is making her comeback with Sunny Deol-starrer Lahore 1947. She was last seen in 2018's action-comedy Bhaiaji Superhit. Fans would certainly love to see the Kal Ho Naa Ho actress after a brief hiatus. Moreover, Bobby and Preity's on-screen chemistry was loved by moviegoers, even though they paired for the first time.

However, fans need to wait for an official announcement from the makers with their fingers crossed.

Taurani also expressed his excitement for Saif's comeback into the action franchise 'Race.' Expressing his delight, the producer said, "Saif will be back in the 'Race' franchise, and we are excited to have him on board. He did a great job in the first two films. The film will boast an ensemble cast, and we are finalizing the script and cast."

He also added that the director for Race 4 is not yet finalised. But, the official announcement will be made soon before the movie goes on floors next year.
