Shraddha Kapoor 'chudail ki tarah hasti hai'! Amar Kaushik's 'joke' fumes fans

Shraddha Kapoor solidified her position as a leading actress in Bollywood with the glorious success of the horror-comedy Stree 2. Also starring Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee with cameos of Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia, Stree 2 scripted history by raking in around Rs 736.46 crore. While its success is attributed to the unique blend of horror-comedy, storytelling and gripping performance of the entire cast, fan clubs were at war over who deserved the credit. Now, once again the debate has begun over its casting after director Amar Kaushik's recent podcast. Moreover, Kaushik's statement on the reason for casting Shraddha Kapoor has fumed the fans of the actress.

ShraddhaKapoor 'Chudailkitarahhastihai...'!

Recently, on Komal Nahta's podcast Game Changer, Kaushik said, "Shraddha ki casting (credit) puri ki puri Dinesh Vijan ko jati hai. Woh Shraddha ke saath kisi flight mein aa rahe the, air flight mein woh unko mili thi (The credit for casting Shraddha goes to Dinesh Vijan. He was on a flight with Shraddha, and he had met her).

Further, Kaushik added, "Toh unhone bola, Amar woh jab hasti hai na toh ekdum Stree ki tarah, ekdum Chudail ki tarah hasti hai, sorry Shraddha. So, aisa kuch bola tha unhone. Chudail bola tha ya kuch aur, I am not sure. Toh mein jab unhe mila toh sabse pehle maine bola haso. (So, he told me Amar she laughs like Stree, she laughs like a witch, sorry Shraddha. So, he said something like that. I don't remember, he said witch or something else, I am not sure. So when I met Shraddha, the first thing I told her was to laugh.)

Soon after a clip from the interview surfaced on social media, fans came in support of Shraddha Kapoor.

One user wrote, "Keep aside Shraddha or any celebrity but saying this things about anyone on national television is not funny specially when you're talking about a A-lister celeb..." (sic)

Several fans even stated that it was Shraddha who gave a Rs 500 crore blockbuster and it was for her they watched the movie.
