Be it Bollywood or OTT, India’s chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor knows how to captivate audiences with his stellar performances. The Kabir Singh actor made his digital debut with Farzi, a crime drama that received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike.

Speaking about the growing influence of streaming platforms, Shahid Kapoor shared his thoughts on the impact of OTT on an actor’s career. "Actually, OTT gives you a different opportunity. I am only interested in giving the audience a great experience. As a creative person, my priority is to give you a great experience," Shahid said to NDTV.

He further elaborated on his approach to balancing mainstream cinema and digital content and said both have their own place and should be done in a balanced way.

In Farzi, Shahid Kapoor plays an artist who enters the counterfeit currency business and literally starts minting money. The series, directed by Raj & DK, was lauded for its gripping storyline and top-notch performances. Alongside Shahid, the show also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, and Bhuvan Arora in key roles.

Following the success of Farzi, Shahid Kapoor returned to mainstream cinema with Bloody Daddy (2023) and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). His latest film, Deva, directed by Roshann Andrews, sees him sporting an intense "angry young man" look. The action thriller opened to a strong start at the box office, minting Rs 5 crore on its first day of release on January 31.
