'Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir are Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh'! Tumbbad star Sohum Shah calls Khan trio his '3 gurus'

Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, the Khan trio of Bollywood, are at the pinnacle of success. They enjoy a massive fan following worldwide and have numerous blockbuster flicks in their names. Undeniably, apart from aspiring actors, several existing actors in the Indian film industry certainly dream of achieving the heights of success enjoyed by the Khan trio. Tumbbad star Sohum Shah is no different. Shah referred to Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir as his '3 gurus' and called them his Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.

Sohum Shah's journey

Before coming to Mumbai, Shah ran a real-estate business in his hometown Sri Ganganagar. He acted and co-produced Ship of Theseus and Tumbbad. He also acted in Maharani and Dahaad.

Narrating about his entry into the film industry, Shah said to PTI, "I came to the industry after watching Shah Rukh Khan...I am a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan. But, meri life ki journey alag hai. You realise that there can be only one Shah Rukh Khan."

Further, showering praises on SRK, Shah said, "He is beautiful and charming no doubt, but I am also somebody and god has created me with care. I have no complaints that I am not SRK. I don't even want to be. There is so much pressure on him. He has to come out of Mannat just to wave to his fans.”

The Khan Trio and Sohum Shah

Furthermore, talking about the Khan trio, Shah said that he has learned a lot from them. Charm from one, sartorial style from the second and work ethic from the third.

Notably, Shah has never worked with any of the Khans except the SRK-produced OTT series Bard of Blood. 

Talking of the influence of the Khan trio on him, Shah said, "They have been my three gurus Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.”

Shah said that he has learnt charm from SRK and the way a man should be. Talking about Salman's influence on him, he said that he asked his brother to bring denim for him after seeing the Dabangg actor wearing one. However, he called Aamir as his Dronacharya.

Shah said to PTI, "He (Aamir) has contributed a lot to Tumbbad... to live with a project for six-seven years. Deep down, I follow his philosophy. His philosophy is that work on one thing but do a proper job.”

Tumbbad Sequel

Actor-producer Sohum Shah is back in the headlines after Tumbbad was re-released in the theatres recently. Though the movie failed to draw the attention of moviegoers in 2018, with time, the period horror film received widespread critical acclaim. Tumbbad, helmed by Rahi Anil Bharve and Adesh Prasad was praised for its unique storytelling, impressive production design and exploration of Indian folklore and mythology and the powerful performance of the entire cast. Apart from Sohum Shah, the movie also starred Jyoti Malshe and Anita Date in pivotal roles. Tumbbad re-released on September 13 and after it was well-received, Shah has announced a sequel to the film.
