Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in 'Zero' in 2018 which bombed at box office and KGF Chapter 1 played a spoilsport for him. It's been over three years now that fans are eagerly waiting for SRK's upcoming flick. While Pathan is one of the most awaited movies of SRK scheduled to release next year on January 25, the 'Chennai Express' actor has now teamed up with Rajkumar Hirani for his next.

Ace movie maker Rajkumar Hirani has joined hands with SRK for the upcoming flick titled, 'Dunki'. While Hirani will helm the movie, actress Taapsee Pannu has been roped in as the female lead. The movie is slated to release on December 22, 2023 during Christmas eve.

Confirming the announcement, Hirani took to Twitter and said, "@iamsrk, Aakhir humne ek saath movie banane ka decision le hi liya 😄 Extremely thrilled to announce #Dunki, coming to you next Christmas! Release in cinemas on 22.12.23"

On the other hand, Shah also expressed his excitement of working with Hirani, through his Tweet.

SRK has collaborated with Hirani for the first time. The shooting for Dunki commenced this month and the next schedule is being shot extensively in Punjab.

Dunki is written by Rajkumar, Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon, and is a Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment and Raj Kumar Hirani films presentation.

Hirani is well known for his movies like Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, PK and Sanju.

Movie Critic Taran Adarsh also shared a video in which SRK is seen at the office of Hirani and taking a glance of the movie posters helmed by the director. Praising his works, SRK asks Hirani if he has any such project for him.

Replying to SRK, Hirani says, "I have a script." Further elaborating on the script, Hirani says it's a story full of comedy, emotions and romance. However, the filmmaker insisted Shah to avoid his iconic pose of extended arms.

Shah Rukh Khan’s next, Pathan under Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles.
