Popular playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya was the voice of many actors including Govinda, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn and many other actors in the 90s. He has made several songs immortal with his magical voice. While his songs can be still found in the playlist of music lovers, one of his songs took the internet by storm after India clinched victory over South Africa in T20I, 'I'm the best...' from Shah Rukh Khan's Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.

Abhijeet has lent his voice to multiple songs featuring SRK with the most popular including, 'Chand Tare Tod Laun', 'Koi Hero Yahan', 'I'm the best...', 'Tauba Tumhare Yeh Ishare', et al.

During the 90s, Abhijeet's voice perfectly synced with SRK and the duo has given multiple hits together. However, there is no song of the duo after Main Hoon Na. Moreover, they are not in speaking terms.

Recently, during an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Abhijeet talked about his rift with King Khan and expressed his continued disappointment with the actor.

He was quoted as saying, "This is something Shah Rukh Khan knows very well. There's no difference between us; our birthdays are just one day apart. We have the same nature."

Further, he added,
"We both know what we're going to be. If I go to him today, I can tell him, as his senior by 6-7 years, Enough of the drama, you are a star and always will be. But if I come back into the picture, then it will be me, not him. Sometimes it feels like he is the type of person who shows off... or maybe he just doesn't have any time."

He also said that he knows himself very well and SRK as well. Even though they don't have a close bond, SRK knows that he (Abhijeet) has been hurt.

"Why won't I sing for Salman Khan...?"

Further, he talked about lending his vocals to Salman Khan. Abhijeet shared an anecdote when he sang 'Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara' for Judwa with Govinda in his mind. As David Dhawan had never worked with anyone other than Govinda, he assumed that it was for Govinda and sang accordingly. However, Abhijeet has lent his vocals to many superhit songs for Salman including Chunari Chunari.

When asked if he would lend his vocals for Salman, he immediately said, Kyun nahi gaenge? (Why won’t I sing for him?)”

However, he shared his one condition for that. He said, "Provided vo kisi Pakistani ko bula k dub na kar de. (Provided he doesn’t invite a Pakistani artist and dub the song.)”

Well, music lovers definitely miss the super talented singer and his songs with their favourite actors like SRK, Salman, Saif, Suniel, etc.

There was an era when Abhijeet Bhattacharya dominated the music list and every other blockbuster song was his.
