Actor Nani won the hearts of moviegoers pan-India with his stellar performance in Hi Nanna (Hi Papa), also starring Mrunal Thakur in pivotal role. Now, the actor is all set for his next Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. With the release date inching closer, Nani recently graced Pinkvilla's exclusive Masterclass interview where he talked about the remake of Hi Nanna and his initial thoughts on Jawan.

During the interview, Nani was asked which of his films he thinks should be remade in Bollywood.

Responding to the question, Nani said that Hi Nanna is a big and popular movie, and people have watched it in Hindi as well. So, a remake of the film won't work. However, he suggested that Nenu Local and Gang Leader could be remade in Hindi.

Recalling the instance when he watched SRK's Jawan trailer, Nani said, "Actually when I saw the trailer of Jawan with Shah Rukh sir and five women, I initially thought this was Gang Leader. After I watched it, then it was not but just an idea like it."

Arshad Warsi's 'Joker' remark for Prabhas in Kalki 2898 AD fumed Nani

Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, loved for his stellar performances in Munna Bhai MBBS, Jolly LLB and many more movies, sparked controversy after sharing his views on Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD. During his appearance on the YouTube show Unfiltered by Samdish, he praised Amitabh Bachchan. However, his comments on Prabhas sparked backlash from Telugu film fraternity, including Nani.

Criticising Arshad's remarks, Nani said, "The person that you’re referring to, this must be the most publicity he has got in his life. You are unnecessarily glorifying an unimportant matter."

Though fans of Prabhas applauded Nani, it drew criticism from people from Hindi regions.

After seeing the widespread reactions online, he revisited Arshad's full interview and realized that his own comments had been "blown out of proportion."

Reacting to this sharp criticism, Nani clarified,  "Definitely, my choice of words was poor. The biggest thing you can do is accept your regret. But what I’m saying is that it sounds worse when translated. One comment can be blown out of proportion. If we slip up, it’s time we take responsibility, whether it’s me or someone else."

"When we sit with our friends at home, we can rip films and actors apart. But as actors, we need to be extra careful with our words. In this case, both he and I are victims," he said in the interview.

On the work front, Nani is all set for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, helmed by Vivek Athreya. The movie is slated to release in theatres on August 29, 2024.
