Nitesh Kumar Sahoo

The love saga of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri remains one of the most romantic and inspiring. Every fan is well aware that Gauri was SRK’s first crush and they got married in 1991. Since then, the duo has been setting some serious relationship goals and many look up to them as idols and get inspiration.

The Pathaan actor never fails to shower praises on his wife and shares the credits for his achievement with her. Through thick and thin, the duo has ever extended support to each other.

Well, everyone is aware that SRK and Gauri had an inter-faith marriage. But, did you know, the Jawan actor changed his name to marry Gauri?

Yes, SRK changed his name to have an Aarya Samaj wedding with Gauri.

Mushtaq Sheikh in his book titled ‘Shah Rukh Can’ revealed the same. As stated in the book, Shah Rukh changed his name to Jeetender Kumar Tulli. Moreover, it was not just a random name picked by SRK for the wedding. He picked the name as a tribute to two yesteryear actors.

Reportedly, SRK’s grandmother thought that he resembled Bollywood star Jeetendra, hence he picked it as his first name. He picked Tulli as it was actor Rajendra Kumar’s surname. For the unversed, the full name of the Dhool Ka Phool actor was Rajendra Kumar Tulli.

Combining two legendary actors of yesteryears, SRK got his new name Jeetendra Kumar Tulli for his wedding as per Aarya Samaj traditions.

Not just SRK changed his name for the wedding. Gauri also changed her name to Ayesha for her Nikaah with Shah Rukh.
