Actor Deepak Tijori is one of the most popular faces of Bollywood. Though he failed to achieve greater success as a lead actor, he cemented his place in the industry as one of the most promising and talented supporting actors in the 90s. He has appeared in various supporting roles but garnered immense popularity as a friend of the protagonist. Be it Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn or Rahul Roy, Tijori has played the roles of best friends of these actors. Notably, 1990's blockbuster Aashiqui brought him immense popularity and he became the first choice of filmmakers as the best friend of the lead actors. However, did you know Deepak Tijori lived with someone else's wife for 20 years?

Let's delve into the story of when Tijori realised this after living together for 20 years.

Tijori spent a blissful 20 years of life with his wife Shivani Taneja. However, situations took a drastic turn and the odds surfaced between them. They engaged in disputes multiple times and Taneja filed for a divorce from Tijori.

However, during the proceedings, it came to light that Shivani Taneja was not legally married to Deepak Tijori. It was more surprising that she was legally married to someone else.

An investigation by Tijori's lawyer revealed that Shivani Taneja's first marriage was legally valid and she had never divorced her first husband. 

Well, this revelation stunned Tijori. It was then that he realised that he had been living with someone else's wife for 20 years, believing her to be his wife.

At the time, Tijori had no home or resources. Moreover, he also had to face the burden of the maintenance claims made by Shivani Taneja and his divorce case.

Certain media reports suggest that Taneja restricted Tijori to using only one room in her house. Moreover, she also instructed her house-helps not to serve him food or clean his room. Such circumstances led to significant mental harassment for the actor. Finding no other way, he moved out of the house and started living in PG or at any friend's place.

While Deepak Tijori has briefed about this several times in interviews, Shivani Taneja has also narrated her side of the story in front of the media. 

As per Taneja's story, she made it clear to Tijori that her first marriage was a mistake and that she had not ended it legally. She also claimed that Tijori being aware of the situation spent all these years with her. However, after she filed a divorce, he tried to defame her by saying that he was unaware of her first marriage.

Recently, Deepak Tijori celebrated his 63rd birthday on August 28.
