Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi's upcoming rom-com Bhool Chuk Maaf, scheduled for theatrical release on May 9, has been delayed indefinitely amid rising tensions with Pakistan. Bhool Chuk Maaf is Now on OTT!

On Thursday, Maddock Films took to Instagram and shared the official announcement reading, "In light of recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock  Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16- only on Prime Video, worldwide." (sic)

Further, the post read, "While we are eagerly looking forward to celebrating this film with you in theatres, the spirit of the nation comes first. JAI HIND" (sic)

Well, this decision by the makers has been welcomed by moviegoers.

Nationwide Security Drills and Rising Tensions With Pakistan

Notably, India has initiated nationwide security drills across 259 districts to enhance civil defence preparedness amid rising tensions with terrorists backed by Pakistan. For the unversed, mock drills took place in several cities across India on Wednesday (May 7) as part of a nationwide civil defence exercise. The move aims to assess India's emergency response readiness. 

In response to the Pahalgam massacre, which killed 26 civilians on April 22, 2025, India launched 'Operation Sindoor' on May 7, 2025. The operation reportedly targeted nine terrorist training camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK).
