Family, fans and friends from the film fraternity bade an emotional adieu to talented actor-director and writer Satish Kaushik, remembered as 'Calendar' in the film 'Mr. India'. The veteran actor, who had made a mark in the film industry with his unique sense of humour and captivating performances, passed away on Thursday at the age of 66.

Mostly remembered for his role in Mr. India, Saajan Chale Sasural and Judaai, he was cremated at Mumbai’s Oshiwara crematorium.  Bollywood celebrities Salman Khan, Anupam Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, Shehnaaz Gill and many others attended the funeral of the veteran actor.

Actor Salman Khan was seen teary-eyed during the funeral. Dressed in a blue lined shirt and black trousers, Salman Khan was spotted shedding tears inside his car and wiping them with his fingers while going towards the cremation ground.

The weeping picture of Salman Khan has left fans heartbroken as Satish was the man who redefined stardom and the craze of Salman Khan in the iconic movie Tere Naam. 

Salman Khan's career was going through a rough patch due to his jail term and flop movies when Satish Kaushik’s movie ‘Tere Naam’ gave him superstardom and made him the star he is today.

Taking to Twitter, Salman Khan wrote, “Always loved cared n respected him n shall always remember him for the man that he was. May his soul rest in peace n strength to family n loved ones… #RIP Satish Ji.”

Similarly, Khiladi star Akshay Kumar who shared screen space with Satish Ji in the famous ‘Mr and Mrs Khiladi, wrote, “Chanda Mama is gone. Deeply saddened to hear about Satish Kaushik ji’s demise. Will remember him for the spontaneous laughter he brought to the sets of Mr & Mrs Khiladi. Am sure he’s already making everyone smile in heaven. OM Shanti.”
