Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, whose eagerly-awaited movie Shaakuntalam is slated to release on April 14, shared five titbits about her movie.

She took to Instagram to share her secrets.

As per Samantha, she had a flower allergy during the shooting of the movie. She had to wear flower ornaments on her arm and other parts. Though she shot all day with no complaints but when she took the flower out, the imprint of them would be all over her arm. Thanks to that, she had a flower tattoo on her arms for at least six months.

She thought it was permanent, because it would not go. So, she put makeup on it for six months until it finally went away.

She dubbed in three languages for Shaakuntalam—Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. She described the experience as tough. She was literally saying her dialogues in the sleep. “I hope I have done a good enough job,” she said.

The actress said she was bitten by a rabbit on the sets of Shaakuntalam. “They are not so cute apparently,” she said describing her harrowing experience with a rabbit.

Speaking about her costumes, Samantha said, “Neeta Lulla made beautiful costumes for me in the movie. There was a song where I had to wear a beautiful lehenga. However, she made some of the lehengas lighter and some are very heavy. Incidentally, what was meant for a song did not materialise. So I ended up wearing a 30kg lehenga to the dance.”

“When I tried to spin in the dance sequence, the heavy lehenga would take me out of the frame. The dance master would tell me to stay in the frame, but in vain. So I had to take 10-15 takes for that particular shot,” she added.

The fifth and last secret she shared was about her hair. That was not her real hair in Shaakuntalam. She wore a wig.

The movie featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the titular role is based on the mythological love story of Shakuntala and Dushyanta. It will release in theatres on April 14.
