Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is gearing for the release of her magnum opus Shaakuntalam, has now revealed the biggest shock she received after her separation from ex-husband Naga Chaitanya.

The Oh Baby actress revealed how her family and friends were against her decision of doing the item number ‘Oo Antava’ as it was right after she announced her separation from Chay.

In an interview with Miss Malini, Sam said, "While I was offered Oo Antava, I was in the middle of all of the separation. The announcement came and every friend of mine every well-wisher, and my family were like 'you sit at home, you will not do an item song’ now just after you announced a separation and you will say no to this."

"Even my friends who usually encourage me and say go for it do Super Deluxe, go challenge yourself, even they said no, do not do an item. But I was like, ‘Ok, I am doing it because I just thought that why should I hide? I mean I did not do anything wrong why should I hide?" Sam added.

Samantha further said, “I gave my marriage 100% and it did not work out, but I was not going to beat myself up and feel guilty for something that I didn't do.”

Notably, Samantha had a troublesome last two years. She underwent a dark phase in her life experiencing divorce and being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Myositis.

On the work front, apart from Shaakuntalam, Samantha has the spy thriller series ‘Citadel’ with Varun Dhawan and ‘Kushi’ opposite Vijay Deverakonda in the pipeline.
