Tollywood queen Samantha Akkineni, who went on to grab the attention of audience pan-India with her debut web series 'The Family Man: Season 2' with Manoj Bajpayee, has multiple times proven her exemplary performance in several movies. Her performance in 'The Family Man: Season 2' as Raji was a never seen before character for which she was applauded and also honoured with the Best Actor award in the Female category at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).

Samantha made her debut in the film industry with Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010 and in the 11-year span of her career she has worked in around 48 movies. Recently, the actress has wrapped up the shooting of Shaakuntalam which is a mythological drama in Telugu language written and helmed by Gunasekhar. The movie is based on the popular Indian play Shakuntala by Kalidasa. The movie is scheduled to release next year.

As per reports, the actress is currently busy in shooting of Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal.

However, recently during an interview with Film Companion, the actress made a shocking announcement which is certainly a big jolt for the fans.

During the interview with Anupama Chopra, Sam talked about the controversy that once surrounded her character 'Raji' in 'The Family Man: Season 2'.

Anupama congratulated Sam for winning the award at the IFFM and wished her to win many more in the coming days.

Anupama asked her what was her take on playing Raji character and how the character impacted her.

"Everyone wanted me to react on The Family Man issue. Say something...say something...I will speak when I want to," said Sam.

The actress said, "It was probably difficult for the director to see beyond the cute girl image that I had and so do every filmmaker have. I am extremely grateful to them."

"I am an extremely greedy actor," she went on to add.

Talking about her upcoming Shaakuntalam the actress said that it was her dream to work on such a project as she is highly inspired by Disney films, characters, animations, magic castles, etc.

When asked about the rumours about her films with Prabhas and Pawan Kalyan, the actress said, "I haven't signed any film for now and I am planning to take a break for few months."

"In 11 years I haven't taken a break, and I think actors need to take some time off, otherwise I am scared that maybe I am burned out," she added.

Further, she clarified that the break won't be for long and she will be back.

While Anupama wished her a restful break, Sam promised to resume work after her long-overdue hiatus.
