Tollywood queen Samantha Ruth Prabhu is back in the headlines as she hears up for her upcoming show Citadel: Honey Bunny, with Varun Dhawan. Sam has earlier opened up about her character Honey and said that it is the 'most layered, complicated, and challenging role' of her career. Recently, the actress held an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram where she admitted making 'some mistakes in the past'.

During the session, a fan asked the 'Oh! Baby' actress, "Can you tell us how hard have you worked for Citadel and what your character would look like?"

To this Sam replied, “I made a promise to myself that I'll challenge myself with every role that I take, each challenge being more difficult than the last one. I agree I made some mistakes in the past and things haven’t really worked out, and I accept failure. I accept that I might not have done my best in my last few films."

Further, she revealed more about Citadel. The Kushi actress wrote, "Citadel is something that I am truly proud of, even before its release just for the fact that I was able to complete the project. So I'm already proud of it. I also do believe that it is the most layered, complicated, and challenging role that I have played in my career."

"But I'm just gonna allow you to be the judge of that," she added.

For the unversed, between 2022 and 2023, Sam had four releases. In 2022, she had Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, and Yashoda, starring Unni Mukundan and Vara Laxmi Sarathkumar. In 2023, she had Shaakuntalam with Dev Mohan and Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. However, all these movies underperformed at the box office and failed to impress a section of the audience, in comparison to previous movies of the actress.

Sam is quite hopeful from Citadel: Honey Bunny. The action series helmed by Raj and DK, and written by Sita R Menon, is the Indian instalment of the global Citadel franchise. It will premiere on Prime Video on November 7, 2024.
