Bollywood actor Salman Khan will be soon provided with Y+ security cover going by the latest decision of the Maharashtra government. Mumbai Police has decided to strengthen the security cover for Salman Khan after he received a threat letter from Lawrence Bishnoi gang earlier.

It is pertinent to mention here that Salman Khan faced threats to life from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who is purportedly behind the murder of rapper Sidhu Moosewala.

In June, Mumbai Police had increased security after Salman Khan and his father, writer Salim Khan received death threats. Led by Joint Commissioner of Police Vishwas Nangre-Patil and other officers, the team queried the Khan family on a letter received near their flat in Galaxy Apartments.

Salim Khan, 87, was handed over the unsigned, hand-written threat letter by an unknown person on a bench where he normally rests after jogging at the Bandra Bandstand promenade, and it was addressed to him and his son Salman.

Later, jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was questioned by the Delhi Police over a threat letter that was recently received by Bollywood megastar Salman Khan and his father, writer Salim Khan.

On October 7, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police apprehended two key members of an international terror module, including a juvenile, who were wanted in a number of terror cases -- the RPG attack incident at the Intelligence Headquarters in Punjab's Mohali, plotting to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan & others.

Special Commissioner Police, Special Cell, HGS Dhaliwal, said the apprehended accused were important nodes of the joint terror network of Pakistan-based Khalistani terrorist Harvinder Singh alias Rinda and Canada-based gangster turned terrorist, Lakhbir Singh Landa.
