Superstar Salman Khan in & as Sikandar
Director AR Murugadoss has recently addressed the buzz surrounding the much-anticipated Salman Khan-starrer Sikandar, clarifying that the film is not a remake of Vijay's blockbuster Sarkar. While both films share a political backdrop, Murugadoss emphasized that it is not a remake and that every frame offers a fresh narrative.
“Sikandar is not a remake, and every frame offers a fresh narrative and excellent experience,” the Ghajini-famed director stated.
“This is a completely original story. Every scene and every frame of Sikandar has been designed and executed authentically. An essential part of the film’s originality is its stunning background score, crafted by the immensely talented Santosh Narayanan. His music perfectly complements the film’s energetic tone and vibrant visuals, adding an emotional depth that enhances every scene,” Murugadoss stated.

The rumors of Sikandar being a remake of Sarkar began circulating after the announcement of the project, with fans and media quickly drawing comparisons due to the common theme of a power struggle within the political arena.
Sikandar marks Salman Khan's return to the action genre, and while the film also delves into themes of power and governance, the storyline and approach are distinct from Sarkar. Murugadoss assured that the film's premise is unique, drawing from a fresh narrative rather than being a mere remake or adaptation of any existing work.
By clearing the air, Murugadoss has given fans the assurance that Sikandar will be an exciting and original offering that will stand on its own merit.
Fans of both the directors and Salman Khan can expect an engaging cinematic experience with Sikandar, which is slated for a major release on Eid this year. The film promises high-octane action sequences, gripping storytelling, and Salman Khan in a never-before-seen avatar.
Also starring is everyone one’s National crush Rashmika Mandanna, who is sharing the screen space with Salman for the first time in her career.
