Salman Khan made ‘special’ promise to his fans after MPK's success; called himself ordinary

Salman Khan has been the leading superstar of Bollywood for more than three decades now. Even today he continues to attract millions of audience to the theaters and influence the minds of young Indians with his movies and style. But decades ago when his first Bollywood movie as male lead – Maine Pyar Kiya was released the young actor became an overnight sensation.

For young Salman Khan who has been trying his luck in the B-town for the last few years both as a model and as an actor, this was quite surprising. Although he belonged to a Bollywood family being the son of Salim Khan this new stardom was too overwhelming for him to digest. During his first audio interview, he revealed the same.

When the interviewer asked him, “Salman tum ek tarah se craze ho gaye ho. Tumhe malum hai na?” In reply Salman said, “Nahi. Muzhe time lene do. Iss picture mein koi exposure nahi tha. The Dabangg Khan added, “Main bahot accha kam karun. Lekin yeh sab aapke haath mein hai. Aap decide karenge ki maine kaisa kiya hai. Main toh bahot hi ordinary hoon. Muzko khud ko yakin nahi aata ki jo main khud hoon. Muzhe khud ko yakin nahi aata ki main woh Salman Khan hoon jo aap log dekhte hai screen pe. Maine script suni thi toh mere ankhon mein aanson aa gaye the. Jo maine Maine Pyar Kiya mein kiya hai shayad use accha kam main kar nahi paunga.”

Over the years Salman Khan has worked in so many blockbusters but has ensured that his movies are clean and devoid of any cheapness or vulgarity and has retained his promise of doing only clean movies all through his career. He continues to follow his no-kissing on-the-screen policy even today.
