Salaar: Here’s why Prithviraj Sukumaran didn’t want to work in Prabhas-starrer

Baahubali fame Prabhas is back in the headlines following the teaser release of the highly-awaited flick Salaar. Helmed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, the movie is touted as a high-octane action thriller movie and Darling Prabhas will be seen in his most violent avatar. 

While the excitement among fans has reached the zenith after the teaser release of Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire, the hints of the flick’s crossover with KGF has augmented the thrills among all. Though there is no official confirmation yet, it is speculated that Yash aka Rocky Bhai will have an extended cameo in the movie. Furthermore, it is speculated that Salaar will be included in Neel’s cinematic verse which includes KGF and Jr NTR’s upcoming with Neel. 

Meanwhile, cine lovers seem to be quite excited after the teaser gave a glimpse into Prabhas’ Salaar world. By now, the teaser has been viewed over 95 million times and has been liked massively. 

The teaser gave a small glimpse of Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is among the popular Malayalam actors with a huge fan base. 

The anticipation among his fans is quite high to explore his character in the movie. But, did you know, Prithviraj didn’t want to work in Prabhas-starrer at first? 

Earlier, in an interview, the actor spoke about the reason why he didn’t do many movies in other languages, unlike his contemporaries Dulquer Salmaan and Fahadh Faasil. He even shared that initially he almost thought he would not be able to do Salaar. 

During an interview with The Cue, the Malayalam actor revealed that he felt this way at the beginning because he was then shooting for another movie, Aadujeevitham (an upcoming Malayalam movie). He will be seen as the protagonist in the movie and he had to go through immense physical transformation for the character.

As the dates for Aadujeevitham and Salaar clashed, Prithviraj thought it was better to let Neel’s offer go. However, when he shared his thoughts with Salaar makers, they told the Ayalum Njanum Thammil actor that they would wait for him and not opt for any other actor.
Later, after confirmation, Salaar's makers postponed his shooting portions to adjust the schedules.

Undeniably, Neel is a master of creativity which is evident from his movies including Ugramm, KGF Chapter 1 and KGF Chapter 2. Movie lovers are hopeful that Neel will serve the high-octane action-packed movie with a completely new avatar of Prabhas that everyone is eagerly waiting for.
