Rolex: Suriya and Lokesh Kanagaraj likely to collaborate for standalone film

Tamil film industry superstar Suriya’s cameo appearance in Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram was one of the most celebrated cameos in the history of Kollywood. Suriya in his devilish avatar stole the show ousting the presence of Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil. 

Even the actor was quite excited to work with Kamal Haasan and he thanked him for making his dream come true.

In his appearance of a few minutes as a dreaded gangster, Suriya was heaped with praises. Earlier, reports were abuzz that Rolex's character will get a spin-off from Vikram and the maker will create a standalone film. As it seems, the long wait of fans will soon come to an end as Suriya and Lokesh are likely going to collaborate soon for the same.

Currently, Lokesh Kanagaraj seems to be one of the busiest directors. While the helmer is all set for his upcoming movie Leo with Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha, the latest buzz suggests potential collaborations with esteemed names such as Karthi, Ram Charan, Prabhas, and even the legendary Thalaivar Rajinikanth.

Recent reports suggest that Lokesh is engaged in discussions for a creative partnership with Suriya as well. The renowned actor apparently unveiled during a fan gathering that the director had shared a concise script idea with him. This revelation gains added excitement as the proposed film is set to be a dedicated venture revolving around Rolex. 

Given the enthusiastic response that Suriya garnered for his brief yet memorable portrayal of Rolex, it seems a prudent choice for Lokesh to explore a full-length feature revolving around the character. Simultaneously, the actor offered insights into his upcoming projects during his interaction with fans.

A highly anticipated collaboration with Vetrimaaran titled ‘Vaadivaasal’ is planned to commence post the filmmaker's completion of the Viduthalai sequel. This disclosure reportedly made during a candid dialogue with fans, has stirred excitement. Additionally, Suriya shared that his forthcoming film, ‘Kanguva,’ helmed by Siva, exceeded expectations.

Suriya is one of the most celebrated actors in the Tamil cine industry and boasts a loyal fandom. He has transcended conventional commercial roles, exploring uncharted territories. Probably, such an initiative will elevate the actor's career.
