  • Here is a list of movies slated to release around the Christmas season this year.

The festive season is one of the best times for movie producers to release their movies. In the last few years, producers in Bollywood, Hollywood, and the regional film industries have been targeting the last 15 days of December to release their movies so that they can earn the benefit of the holiday season.

The much-awaited movie of Rohit Shetty titled Cirkus will release on December 23 around this Christmas season. It stars Ranveer Singh , Jacqueline Fernandez, and Pooja Hegde in the lead and is a story based on Sanjeev Kumar and Gulzar's classic Angoor.

The success of this movie is highly important for Ranveer as his last two movies Jayesbhai Jordaar and 83 were big failures at the box office.

The Heropanti debutants Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon reunite with Ganapath which can be a major draw for the young generation. Ganapath will hit the theaters on December 23. Tiger is desperately in need of a big hit after the debacle of Heropanti 2 and Ganapath is expected to get tough competition from Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus at the ticket window.

Avatar: The Way of Water

This much-awaited Hollywood movie will release on December 16 almost a week earlier than Cirkus and Ganapath but looking at the response to its trailer it seems that the hold of Avatar 2 will continue even when these Bollywood movies will hit the theaters. Hence Ranveer as well as Tiger Shroff’ s movies are expected to face tough competition from Avatar: The Way of Water.

The Good Maharaja

It is an Indo-Polish venture starring Sanjay Dutt in the lead. The movie will release in theaters on December 17. Sanjay Dutt is playing the role of Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji Jadeja, who was the nephew of the famous Indian cricketer Ranjitsinghji and the Maharaja of Nawanagar.

A stellar star cast is the major attraction of this movie which will have Nayanthara, Anupam Kher, Rohit Saraf, and Sathyaraj sharing the screen space. The story revolves around a single mother who starts witnessing eerie changes in the behaviour of her daughter after a curfew is imposed by the government in her area.
