Rishab Shetty, Kantara
Rishab Shetty recently won a National Award for his outstanding work in Kantara released in 2022. The movie was a massive success and a sequel is already underway. The debate around Bollywood and South Indian movies has been going around for some time now with many Southern actors voicing out different opinions.
During one of his recent interviews, Rishab Shetty also discussed Hindi films and their content. According to the Kannada superstar, Indian films especially Bollywood show India in a bad light and that the inclination is more to present the movies as art films so that they get invited to the global events and red carpets.
Talking about himself, the Sandalwood actor said that for him his nation, his state, and his language are his pride and that is what he takes at the global level positively. While fans of South Indian movies praised Rishab Shetty for his statement, many Bollywood movie fans called him out for directing and acting in a movie like Kantara which is full of violence and cruelty.
RISHAB SHETTY: Indian films, especially Bollywood shows India in a Bad light, touted as art films, getting invited to global event, red carpets.
My nation, My state, My language-MY PRIDE, why not take it on a +ve note globally & that's what I try to do.

Rishab Shetty has always been forthright about his views and even had taken a dig at Rashmika Mandanna for forgetting her roots as the actress made her debut through the Kannada film Kirik Party before making her entry in the Telugu film industry and becoming a star.
Work-wise Rishab Shetty is now busy working on Kantara Legend: Chapter 1. The first look of the second movie from the franchise was released in November last year on the birth anniversary of the legend on whose life the film is based.

The story revolves around the Kadamba Dynasty, which was one of the ancient and royal families of Karnataka. The first look of this movie showed a person with a blood-soaked, chiseled body wearing rudraksh and holding a trishul in his hand. He has long and curly hair with a beard and as his face looks into the camera, his fiery eyes are revealed.
