Ratan Tata borrowed money from Amitabh Bachchan and asked for a lift

Under the leadership of the scion of the illustrious Tata family, Tata Industries ventured into several sectors, including automobiles. But, did you know Ratan Tata once borrowed money from Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan and asked for a lift from his friend as he didn't have a car?
People are well aware of Ratan Tata's net worth and the story of the Business Magnet acquiring Jaguar Land Rover in 2008 at $2.3 billion which left many shocked.
Recently, Amitabh Bachchan recalled a trip to London with Ratan Tata on his popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. During the episode, graced by Boman Irani and Farah Khan, he shared a memorable experience with the Business Tycoon.
Reminiscing the incident, Bachchan said, "Kya aadmi the main bata nahi sakta (What a man he was). Such a simple human being.”
Further, he recounted the incident when both of them travelled to London on the same flight. As shared by Bachchan, when they landed at Heathrow Airport, the Tata Scion found himself in an unexpected situation. His arranged pick-up left him and he was standing alone.
"I saw him standing there and he went to a phone booth to make a call. A short while later, he came up to me and asked, 'Amitabh, can I borrow some money from you? I don't have money to make a phone call!"
Well, this touching moment certainly defines his humble nature and remains an unforgettable memory for the legendary actor.

Further, Bachchan also shared another story when Ratan Tata asked for a lift from the actor's friend as he didn't have a car.
"Ratan Tata told my friend, 'Can you drop me home? I just live behind your house.' Ratan Tata saying, 'I don't have a car,' can you imagine that! It's unbelievable," added Bachchan.
Notably, Ratan Tata's mortal remains were consigned to flames with full state honours on October 11, 2024, in Mumbai.
