Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' remains a hot topic even two months after its release, particularly regarding the portrayal of Rashmika Mandanna's character ‘Geetanjali’ in the film alongside Ranbir Kapoor. There is a mixed opinion among audiences, with some lauding Mandanna's performance and others criticised it for not effectively confronting the misogyny depicted in the film.

Acknowledging the varied feedback, Mandanna staunchly defends her character, describing it as strong and expressing immense happiness at portraying such a character. Despite criticism suggesting a lack of resistance against misogyny in the film, Rashmika asserted that she would willingly take on the same character multiple times, considering it beautiful.

In an interview with Times Now, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity, describing the character as beautiful and stating her willingness to enact it repeatedly. Mandanna emphasised that as an actor, she merely brings the director's vision to life, adhering closely to the script and directorial guidance. She emphasised the collaborative nature of filmmaking, where any aspects the director finds unsatisfactory are refined through teamwork.

Asserting the strength of her character, Mandanna drew inspiration from real-life stories of resilient women. She approached her role with sincerity and dedication, ensuring alignment with the director's creative vision. Mandanna also expressed gratitude for the film's success at the box office.

Meanwhile, Pranay Reddy Vanga, the producer of 'Animal' and brother of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, praised Mandanna's performance, positioning her character among the top three in the film alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol's characters. He lauded Mandanna's contribution to the film, remarking on the lack of recognition she received despite her commendable performance, implying that she deserved greater acknowledgment for her role.
