Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-awaited action-thriller movie ‘Animal’, directed by ‘Kabir Singh’ fame director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been postponed, reports said.

The film, which was slated to hit the theatres on August 11, has been postponed. A new release date is yet to be announced, revealed film critic Taran Adarsh.

Taking to Twitter, Taran wrote, “Exclusive… ANIMAL not arriving on Independence Day weekend… Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga won’t release on August 11, 2023. Yes, the film has been postponed. A new release day will be announced in the coming days.”

The film was supposed to clash with Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’. Even as the exact reason for the postponement is yet to be ascertained, the makers seem to not take any risk for the much-awaited film.

On the other hand, the makers of Gadar 2 are super confident that their movie will do well at the box office, as it is a sequel to Gadar, which was the highest-grosser movie during its release. They are confident that the sequel will also become a blockbuster like its first part.

Similarly, Akshay Kumar’s OMG was also a blockbuster and the makers are hoping OMG 2 will also be received well by the audience. Amid these two big releases, the makers of Animal did not want to take any risk and decided to avert the clash.

However, Ranbir Kapoor fans are hopeful that this movie will change his career graph forever as it will show him in a never-seen avatar. The actor, usually known for doing romantic movies, has stepped into a badass avatar and will be seen as a rowdy don in the movie.

Last month, the pre-teaser of the movie was released and received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The video shows Ranbir Kapoor in a badass never-seen avatar, wielding an axe and fighting with a group of men.

Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.
