Ramayana
After the roaring success of Animal, Ranbir Kapoor is riding high, and all eyes are now on his most ambitious project, Ramayana, directed by Dangal and Chhichhore fame Nitesh Tiwari. The epic, starring Ranbir as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, has already created massive buzz, and fans might not have to wait too long for a first look.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers are planning to unveil the first glimpse of Ramayana at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES), scheduled for May 1–4, 2025.
A source close to the project revealed, “The WAVES Summit is aiming to be a landmark event, and Ramayana could be one of its biggest highlights. The team is planning either a first poster or a video reveal. Talks are underway, and if everything aligns, this could be the platform to kick off the film’s grand promotions.”
The film is set to be released in two parts, with the first instalment arriving in Diwali 2026, followed by the second in Diwali 2027.
Besides Ranbir and Sai Pallavi, the film features Yash as the Demon King Ravana and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. Reportedly, Arun Govil, Lara Dutt, Indira Krishna, and Rakul Preet Singh, among others, will be seen in pivotal roles. Director Nitesh Tiwari is reportedly sparing no effort in creating what he hopes will be the biggest mythological blockbuster in Indian cinema.
With a powerful cast, visionary director, and one of India’s most beloved epics at its heart, Ramayana is shaping up to be a cinematic event of epic proportions. If early buzz and the WAVES Summit reveal are any indicators, the countdown to this mythological mega-blockbuster has officially begun.
