Ramayana: Sunny Deol to begin shooting soon, opens up about ‘Fear and Nervousness’ in essaying Lord Hanuman
Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious magnum opus, Ramayana, has been creating waves ever since its announcement. The grand scale of the project, coupled with a stellar cast, has only heightened anticipation among fans. After unveiling the first looks of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as the mighty Ravana, audiences are now eagerly awaiting Sunny Deol’s transformation into Lord Hanuman.
Recently, Deol revealed that he will be starting the shoot 'very shortly', while candidly admitting to feeling both 'fear and nervousness' about stepping into the iconic role of Lord Hanuman.
Speaking to Zoom in a recent interview, the actor said, “It will be exciting, it will be fun. It’s going to be great, it’s going to be beautiful.” His heartfelt admission reflects both the challenge and the honour of portraying one of the most revered figures in Indian mythology.
Sunny also spoke about the fear factor. He said, "See, nervousness or fear- that factor is there. But that’s the beauty of it, because you have to find within yourself how you’re going to take up the challenge and how you’re going to live up to it. And you’re getting the opportunity to do it, and I’m very sure Amit, the producer, they’re doing a great job of it."
Sunny hopes Ramayana will be on par with Hollywood films.
The Gadar 2 actor said, "Because they are going to bring out those supernatural things and those effects on screen, which I hope - fingers crossed - are nothing less than what Hollywood has. I mean, how many times has it been made, and how many Ramlilas happen?"
Further, he added, "When it comes to the big screen, the way all the actors involved in it are performing, I’m sure there will be justice to everything, and people will feel satisfied and enjoy the whole film."
