The excitement among fans is building high for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. Moviegoers are eagerly waiting to see Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Yash as Lord Ram, Devi Sita, Lord Hanuman and Demon King Ravana, respectively. While earlier reports were abuzz that Tiwari had planned a trilogy for the cinematic adaptation of the Indian Epic, later it was claimed that the movie would be of two parts. However, the recent reports suggest that it will be a trilogy and Tiwari has plans for a standalone part for Lord Hanuman, to be essayed by Sunny Deol.

According to an exclusive report by India Today, Tiwari will develop Ramayana as a trilogy. While the first part will focus on Lord Ram and Devi Sita until the latter's abduction by Lankesh Ravana, the second part of the franchise will be a standalone and will focus on Lord Hanuman. The second part will establish Lord Ram's exile period and build their connection with Lord Hanuman. Whereas, the third part will focus on Lanka Dahan and the rescue of Devi Sita.

India Today quoted a source close to the development as saying, "The film is currently being shot in parallel so that there are no long gaps between the releases of this trilogy.”

Well, if the reports are anything to go by, the filmmaker's decision to make a standalone part on Lord Hanuman would certainly fuel up the excitement among all. The recent mammoth success of the Telugu movie Hanu-Man and the anticipation for Jai Hanuman says it all.

However, fans need to wait for an official announcement from the makers.

Notably, a major part of the first part of Ramayana is completed. Soon, the team will go on floors to shoot the remaining part.
